How To Care for Tablecloth
Decorating the house is something that most people do to make their space more unique. You would often find one to decorate their dining table with tablecloths. However, when it come to taking care and maintaining of tablecloths, here’s how you can do it…

Maintaining tablecloths
Rules for washing your tablecloths are to have it on delicate cycle. If you have a front loader, it will be better as the tablecloths usually wrap itself in a top-loading machine. If stain remover is require for pre-treatment, make sure it is not going to bleach the fabric. Test it on the inside seam as some tablecloths are not probably done with color-safe dyes and will bleach. If there are no oily spots on the tablecloth, wash on Delicate/Cold. If there are oily food stains, treat it with dish detergent and wash on Delicate/Warm.

Drying and Ironing Tablecloths
Dry your tablecloth on Delicate setting until it is mostly dry. Do make sure you touch it, and the feel of it is barely damp, as this is the best time to iron it. Ironing your tablecloth on the highest setting on the fabric that can tolerate. However, be very careful with this part, as you do not want scorch marks on your fabric!

If it is cotton, ironing it on high heat is doable. If it is delicate fabric or with hand painting on it, ironing it on a low setting is better. It is best to iron delicate tablecloth on the reverse side of the fabric as you won’t have the shiny appearance on the right side if you have to use a hotter heat for the ironing.

If you do fold the tablecloths, this will usually cause folding lines. Ironing only will get rid of the folding lines. However, tablecloths do take time to steam out with iron. With proper care on such delicate piece, the tablecloths will look so much more presentable, not to mention create a professional look on the table.
